AN EASY DIY POT PLANT HOLDER FOR YOUR HOME OR OFFICE.

Things you need:
• Mortar mix (20kg)
• Water
• Mixing bucket
• Trowel
• Metal Bucket (Bucket size depends on how large you would like the holder to be)
• Cooking oil (1 cup)
• Sandpaper
• Paint
Method:
1. Add ¾ mortar mix into the mixing bucket (Use the trowel to mix thoroughly).
2. Once mixed, add water in increments to create the cement mixture.
3. Use ¾ of the cement mixture to create multiple balls (roughly the same size) and allow them to harden for about 10 minutes.
4. Prepare the metal bucket by greasing the outside and bottom of the bucket with cooking oil (This allows the bucket to be removed easily after the mixture has set).
5. It’s now time to create the structure, place the metal bucket upside down on an even surface.
6. Place the balls side by side going around, then up the bucket (Lightly press each ball together for them to bond).
7. Once you have reached the top, use some of the cement mixture to fill in all the gaps.
8. Now use the remaining mixture to create the base on top.
9. Leave the holder to set for 48 hours, then flip over and remove the metal bucket.
10. Smoothen out the inside by mixing and applying the remaining ¼ bag of mortar mix.
11. Leave to set and once hardened, sand the holder to create a smooth finish.
12. Paint pot holder colour of your choice.
13. The pot plant holder is now complete.
14. Add compost and a tree or plant of your choice.
